What is Dry Hair?

Hair has three layers. The outer layer is to protect inner layers. When this layer is damaged, it causes dry hair. In others words, hair that does not have enough moisture to maintain normal texture and shininess, is called dry hair. Hair becomes dry during different types of activities, like overuse of hair dryers, swimming in chlorinated water, sunbathing, and other styling products. Women and men in any range of age can have dry hair. Popular signs and symptoms of dry hair are dull hair, lack of luster and shine, brittle or harsh texture, tangled hair, unmanageable rough hair, hair breakage, split ends, hyper-absorption, overly porous, itchy scalp, no elasticity, etc.
